"To be..or not to be." How someone does yoga is how someone lives their Life. The poses are simply the situations in which you find yourself. Opportunities to be at peace or to resist that peace will be found in this hatha class. Bring your breath. Everybody is welcome.
Re-connecting to Spirit
In a world where there is so much emphasis on what divides us we will use our Asana practice to re-connect to the powers that unite us. Through slow, mindful movement we create a new relationship to breath and Spirit while asking the question, “What truly is Yoga? & More importantly, how do we create it?”
You can expect a challenging and grounded vinyasa practice that holds the relationship to breath as its foundation. This all-level practices will leave you frustrated or humbled at times, powerful and strong, or deeply moved and inspired as we create the Space for Spirit to move through not just our practice, but our lives. This class encourages self-reflection & self-discovery; be prepared to take the long journey back to you.
Freeing up the breath.
What are some of barriers that women encounter on the spiritual path today? How can our current practices be more inclusive of the feminine perspective? Why is that important? The women’s circle is an embodied conversation of how we can rejuvenate, empower and enliven the feminine body, heart and soul in a masculine world. Feminine embodied. Movement and meditation.
Freeing up the breath
We’ll practice using the Principles of Yoga to gain a sense of inner power and FREEDOM. The First main principle of yoga is the breath. Practice breathing with the muscles of respiration. We will also look at releasing our body armour to free up the breath and run prana through our bodies. “Yoga guides us through EXPERIENTIAL awareness towards sustained happiness in spite of our unique limitations, ongoing challenges and the changing times. This journey is different for each of us and yet, the same, because along the way we rely on the PRINCIPLES of Yoga and THEY birth us into the uniqueness of our TRUE selves.” --Sandra Sammartino

Get out of the way
With so many yoga teacher trainings and the explosion of opportunities for upcoming and experienced teachers it is easy for us to get caught up in being yoga teachers rather than yoga students. This workshop is designed to give yoga teachers a tool-box so that they can facilitate a space that moves beyond an average surface practice and enables teachers to create a space that allows yoga to transform lives. We may briefly reflect on yogic philosophy but more importantly we will look at what we can do to get ourselves out of the way and allow the power of the practice to come through. This workshop may show us all aspects of our teaching and ourselves we would rather not see and bring us to create stories around who we are as teachers. Truly there is one question; How committed are we to being students so that we can be powerful teachers?
